Cultural Opportunities for your Students

What does a recent survey of CEO’s by Pricewaterhouse Coopers tell us about our students’ futures? Employees today—our students in a few short years—need the ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds. Cultural adaptability is becoming a critical skill as businesses go global, cooperating with and serving the needs of people around the world. Managing multicultural teams effectively is the most valued characteristic of a leader, CEO report, more so than industry knowledge, experience with a company, or an advanced degree from a top college. Especially at entry-level positions, companies are seeking candidates with cultural knowledge and sensitivity as well as team-building skills.

We the members of the Cultural Communications Alliance (CCA) could not agree more! A non-profit organization that unites teachers and business professionals, the CCA is committed to providing vital experiences for students in schools throughout southwestern Pennsylvania. In conjunction with local corporations including Bayer, H. J. Heinz, Medrad, Seagate Technology and Chorus Call, we offer an annual international marketing competition for high school students. As we embark on our eighth year of business/education partnerships, we invite you to join us. Help your students take advantage of the wealth of opportunities and multicultural experiences that CCA provides.
